  • In May 2024, GE Vernova received the initial order from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) as a component of a rapid-track project to replace the 1.3-GW Kingston Fossil Plant in Tennessee with a 1.5-GW modern complex. The original equipment manufacturer will provide 16 LM6000 VELOX dual fuel DLE gas turbine and generator packages, which are expected to deliver 850 MW when they begin operating in 2028.

  • In April 2024, Rivit Srl, Baker Hughes, was awarded a contract to supply gas technology equipment for the third phase of Saudi Aramco's master gas system (MGS) project. Baker Hughes will supply 17 pipeline centrifugal compressors driven by aero-derivative gas turbines for Aramco's 4000-kilometer pipeline. The company expects to increase domestic gas distribution and contribute to a reduction of carbon emissions and oil consumption.

  • In January 2024, CS Energy awarded GE Vernova's Gas Power business a contract to supply aero-derivative gas turbines for a hydrogen-ready power plant in Queensland, Australia. Brigalow Peaking Power Plant will generate 400MW of energy. GE Vernova is supplying its LM2500XPRESS aero-derivative gas turbines. The power plant is capable of operating on green hydrogen at a volume of 35% initially. During its first 10 years of operation, it will switch from running entirely on hydrogen.

  • In November 2023, GE Vernova's Gas Power business announced that it had secured a contract to build temporary generating capacity at SSE's Tarbert site in County Kerry, Ireland. The anticipated generating capacity of 150 megawatts (MW), powered by three GE Vernova LM6000PC Sprint aero-derivative gas turbines, marks GE Vernova's third temporary reserve power plant for catering to the energy demands and ensuring the security of supply in Ireland. GE Vernova is now expected to provide more than 1.1 gigawatts of reserve power in Europe.

  • In July 2023, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) announced the execution of a Technical Assistance and License Agreement with General Electric Technology GmbH Switzerland for the manufacture of Gas Turbines. As per the agreement, BHEL will have the capability to provide Gas Turbines with fuel blends encompassing Hydrogen, Methanol, and Syngas, among others, in a hybrid configuration, thereby accelerating the energy transition in India. Additionally, aero-derivative gas turbines will aid in balancing the grid in accordance with the nation's ambitious renewable energy build-up target.
