In the automotive industry, different carpets are used for various purposes. The carpet is a dense full package of the floor, it is usually made of cotton or man-made fibres, especially one that covers the entire floor. A carpet is a fabric floor covering that usually includes a stacked top layer attached to the backrest. Moulded carpets usually refer to carpets used inside cars. Carpets use two types of backing: poly backing and large area backing. In majority of cars mass backing is used.

The carpet is designed in such a way that it is attached to the bottom/bottom of the vehicle, so there should be no air passages or pockets to prevent dust from entering the compartment. Floor carpets reduce sound, improve the aesthetic appearance of the vehicle interior, and provide insulation. According to the requirement the floor carpet is made up of various materials. Car floor carpets also provide cushioning for the occupants. It also prevents water and dirt from entering the car and also prevents the car floor from corrosion.
