The best way to keep animal nutrition at its best is through its packaging. Feed packaging is used for packing feed as it offers tampering resistance along with physical, chemical, and biological requirements. Trends in pet food, such as e-commerce and sustainability, increase the demand for convenience, portion control, and environmentally friendly packaging, driving the market growth.

  • According to the Insurance Information Institute, 70% of U.S. households, or about 90.5 million families, own a pet, according to the 2021-2022 National Pet Owners Survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association (APPA). The rise in the number of pet owners in the U.S., as well as throughout the world, is driving the growth of the feed packaging market.

Packaging has a key role in the robust growth of the pet food industry, especially for premium products. The demand for personalized food packaging is bringing new opportunities to the feed packaging market. Producers are also taking the initiative and manufacturing innovative products such as resealable pouches and bags, zipper bags, and packaging labels on packaged goods that include facts about the nutritional contents and other information related to the feed offered, contributing to the growth of the market.

Governments of several nations imposed stringent regulations on the use of single-use plastic due to their impact on the environment. Generally, manufacturers use such plastic as the raw material for the packaging of feed. Strict rules and regulations in different countries will hinder the growth of the feed packaging market.
