Boiler Refractory Material Market Size, Share & Industry Analysis, By Chemical Nature (Acidic, Neutral, Basic or Alkali), By Type (Fireclay Refractories, High-Alumina Refractories, Silica Refractories, Basic Refractories, Insulating Refractories, Others) and Regional Forecast, 2024-2032
Report Format: PDF | Published Date: Ongoing | Report ID: FBI101563 | Status : UpcomingHeat is an important source of energy. Heat energy has myriad uses in human daily life. Several processes are incomplete without the application of heat. Several methods have been discovered by humans to generate heat and utilize it for the betterment of mankind. Heat generation using boilers is one of the most primary ways of heat generation.
To increase the process efficiency, the heat required is increasing, and hence the temperature is rising as result of increased heat. Boiler refractories are non-metallic inorganic materials which substantially retain their strength, chemical and physical properties at high temperatures that make them suitable for construction or lining of high-temperature furnaces, kilns, and reactors.
Based on chemical nature, the boiler refractory material market can be segmented into acidic, neutral and base or alkali. Acid materials consist of clay, quartz, silica, gamester, and sandstone. Neutral materials include graphite, chromite, alumina, and plumbago. Base or alkali consist of lime, zirconia, and magnesia.
Based on type, the boiler refractory material market is divided in Fireclay Refractories, High-Alumina Refractories, Silica Refractories, Basic Refractories, and Insulating Refractories. Refractory fireclays consist mostly of hydrated aluminum silicates (generally Al2O3 ⋅ 2SiO2 ⋅ 2H2O) along with smaller quantities of other minerals.
High-alumina bricks have Al2O3% ranging from 50 to 99, Fe2O3% from 0.2 to 3.0. Alumina refractories are more refractory than fireclay, approximately in proportion to their content of alumina. Basic refractory is any heat-resistant material used for basic linings. The raw material used here includes magnesite (MgCO3), dolomite (CaMg(CO3)2), chrome ore, etc.
Silica Refractories are made from high-purity crystalline mineral quartz and silica gravel deposits with low alumina and alkali contents. They are chemically bonded with 3–3.5% lime.
The major market driver for the global boiler refractory material market is the increasing demand for electricity worldwide. Almost all modern power plants require a boiler to generate steam. The rising number of power plans provide a big boost for the boiler refractory material market. The key market restraint for the global boiler refractory material market is the high cost of production of the refractory material.
Key Players Covered
Some of the major companies that are present in the boiler refractory material market are TRL Krosaki, Schad Refractory, Delta Refractories (Pty.) Ltd., Calderys, Manley's Boiler, LLC, Ranchi Refractories (India) Pvt Ltd., and Vesuvius.
Regional Analysis
The global boiler refractory material market has now been spread into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa. Asia-Pacific is the dominant player in the boiler refractory material market. Power plants which use combustion of fuel to generate electricity use boilers. Several of these boilers are old and require refurbishment and modernization. The boiler refractory material is changed during this upgradation. Similar activities are being carried out in Europe, North America, and Latin America.
The new thermal power plants are generally combined heat and power, combined cycle or co-generation gas-powered power plants. These power plants require boiler and boiler refractory materials. Bio-mass fired boilers are used in countries like Indonesia, Brazil, etc. which have abundant biofuels. Several industries like chemical, food & beverage, metallurgical, etc. use boilers in the process flow.
