Heat Meter Market Size, Share and Global Trend By Type (Mechanical, Static), By Connection (Wireless, Wired), By Application (Residential, Commercial, Industrial) and Regional Forecast, 2024-2032
Report Format: PDF | Published Date: Ongoing | Report ID: FBI101104 | Status : UpcomingSmart technologies are used to monitor energy consumption and increase their efficiency. Energy consumption includes not only electricity usage but also thermal usage. The thermal efficiency of systems is quite low, and hence, monitoring and control of thermal systems are essential. Thermal usage can be measured in British Thermal Units (BTU), Joules, or Kilowatt-hours. Heat meters are used to measure the thermal energy in modern structures.
A heat meter is a device which measures thermal energy on the supply side or returns side of a heat-generating or heat exchanging device, by measuring the flow rate of the heat transfer fluid and the change in its temperature (ΔT) between the supply and return legs of the system. A heat meter consists of: a fluid flow meter, a means of measuring the temperature between the supply flow and the return flow, usually a pair of thermocouples and means of integrating the two measurements over a period of time - typically half an hour - and accumulating the total heat transfer in a given period.
On the basis of type, heat meter can be segmented into the mechanical and static heat meters. The mechanical heat meter is further bifurcated into multi-jet and turbine heat meter. Static heat meter is also categorized as electromagnetic and ultrasonic heat meters. Heat meters based on ultrasonic technology are commonly used. Heat meter can either wired connections or wireless connections. Modern structures use IOT based wireless connections for monitoring and control. Heat meter are used in residential, commercial, and industrial spaces.
Heat water is used to measure chilled water units to keep a record of chilled water utilization for billing purpose in shopping malls or office buildings where there are different tenants. District heating schemes use heat meters to allocate heating costs to individual tenants in the scheme. Heat meter is typically used in industrial plants for measuring boiler output and the heat taken by a process.
The major market driver for global heat meter market is the regulatory push for thermal energy consumption. Also, increasing awareness about decrease the carbon footprints and smart management for thermal energy is also driving the market growth of the heat meter. Key market restraint for the global heat meter is the high initial cost of heat meter.

Regional Analysis
The global heat meter market has been segmented into North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Middle East & Africa. Europe is expected to dominate the heat meter market on account of recent Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27/EU (Directive 2012/27/EU of the European, 2012) and Measuring Instruments Directive 2014/32/EU. Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is set to boost sales of heat meter in the UK. The steady growth of heat meter is anticipated in the North American market on account of federal policies in the USA and government encouragement in Canada. Healthy growth of heat meter market is expected in China on account of government policy to achieve energy efficiency.
