The global water clarifiers market size was valued at USD 5.62 billion in 2018 and is projected to reach USD 14.02 billion by 2032, exhibiting a CAGR of 6.76% during the forecast period of 2019-2032.

The water clarifiers market is driven by the increasing adoption of these systems in recent years owing to stringent government regulations regarding wastewater discharge. The wastewater discharge leads to destabilization of the ecosystem and hampers water bodies. Water clarifiers design varies as per the requirement, and these are available for various applications. Water clarifiers for swimming pools, aquariums, fish tanks, spas, and for wastewater treatment plants are the major fields of application.

MARKET TRENDS

Increasing Number of Wastewater Treatment Plants

The rapid urbanization witnessed in major countries around the world has resulted in a considerable increase in the amount of waste generated from the urban sector. This has impelled governing bodies to install wastewater treatment plants to ensure harmless discharge to water bodies. The increasing use of water clarifier across numerous water plants and subsequent rise in the number of water plants across the world is certainly driving their market.

Stringent Regulations Regarding Discharge of Specific Solutes to Water Bodies

As earth has a small percent of freshwater suitable for utilization by humans, the discharge of untreated wastewater has led to the pollution of freshwater bodies. This degrades the quality of water, making it incapable to use. This has led to the formation of some stringent regulations regarding wastewater discharge by governments. According to this wastewater treatment is a mandate for various industries and cities to suffice their increasing water demand. This has positively impacted the growth of the water clarifiers market in recent years and is anticipated to continue so in the coming years.

MARKET DRIVERS

Rapid Urbanization Increases Waste Generation That Drives Water Clarifiers Installations

The major factor driving water clarifiers systems market growth is the rise in urbanization across the globe. This has resulted in surplus demand for water, energy, and other manufactured goods. To fulfill these demands, energy producers have increased energy production, and governments have invested heavily in wastewater treatment. Increased energy production has led to new power plants being constructed and therefore helping water clarifiers market as wastewater treatment stands as an essential factor in any power plant, manufacturing industry, urban wastewater treatment.

Globally Increasing Water Stress Drives the Need for Wastewater Recycling

The ever increasing demand for water has made wastewater recycling an important process that needs to be carried out in order to suffice water demand coming from various sectors. Water clarifier eliminate the harmful entrants in water bodies with the use of various chemicals that neutralize the charge and promote floc formation. The emissions to water bodies may include toxic elements, lead, nitrate, mercury, arsenic, selenium, salt, etc. that result in a misbalance of the ecosystem and water bodies. Therefore, the treatment of water is necessary to decrease the freshwater demand by various end-use sectors.

MARKET RESTRAINT

Increasing Demand of Other Alternative for Water Treatment

The major factor that can hinder the water clarifiers market growth is the increasing demand for other alternatives to wastewater treatment. The presence of alternatives available in the market, like the chemical treatment, are available at a meager cost as compared to clarifiers. Also, the initial investment in the overall wastewater treatment plant is quite high which can hamper the market in future.

SEGMENTATION

By Type Analysis

Mandatorily Required Primary Treatment to Any Waste Will Drive Organic Coagulants Growth

Based on type, the market is classified into flocculants, organic coagulants, inorganic coagulants, and ph stabilizers. Coagulants and flocculants are required for primary treatment for any kind of waste. Organic coagulants are a basic necessity in any treatment plant as they destabilize the organic charged waste, therefore promoting clog formation and settling of waste in the filtration or sedimentation tanks. The growth witnessed in organic waste generation from industries, and the urban sector will drive organic coagulants growth during the given forecast period.

By Application Analysis

Growing Population and Urbanization Drive Urban Wastewater Treatment Plant Installations

By application, the market segments include municipal, pulp & paper, textiles, petrochemicals, metals & mining, and others. The growing population, coupled with rapid urbanization, has resulted in a tremendous amount of waste generation. Concerns regarding effective management of waste have impelled lots of municipal organizations for the construction of new urban wastewater treatment plants. This has driven the water clarifier installations and, therefore, its market growth. Also, industrial sectors such as textile, paper & pulp, petrochemicals, and mining have been adopting water clarifier treatment systems to comply with government regulations to reuse and treat water before discharge. Thus, all these factors are likely to support the growth of the market.

REGIONAL ANALYSIS

The findings based on our research indicate North America to hold the dominant water clarifiers market share. The major reason attributed to this dominance is the implication of the wastewater treatment technologies, which led to the coming up of many treatment plants across regions. Following this, the region has the maximum presence of various dominant players in the market. The US recently set federal limits on the level of toxic metals and other discharges and therefore making water treatment as a mandate in the country for power plants and industries.

Asia Pacific, on the other hand, stands as the region holding maximum growth opportunities for the market. Rapid urbanization witnessed in the region has increased the amount of waste generated on a daily basis leading to the construction of various wastewater treatment plants. China, India, and the Southeast Asian Countries form major portion of the market and hold healthy growth opportunities.  Following stringent government norms to follow wastewater treatment has become an important practice in Europe that will certainly increase the number of water clarifiers installations. Latin America and the Middle East & Africa and will also witness a healthy growth in the market size with the increasing urbanization and power demand in the regions.
