Cachexia – Pipeline Review, 2019

Cachexia is a disorder that causes extreme weight loss, muscle wasting and fat loss. Cachexia is also referred to as wasting syndrome. PINTA 745 is a drug which is being studied by Pinta Biotherapeutics, to evaluate its effect on end-stage renal disease and protein-energy wasting and is currently in phase 1 of clinical trial.

Currently, more than 50% of the pipeline candidates for cachexia are in phase 2 and phase 3 of clinical trials. Majority of the studies have been sponsored by research institutes, specialty centers & hospitals.
