Methidathion (CAS 950-37-8) chemically known as 3-(dimethoxyphosphinothioylsulfanylmethyl)-5-methoxy-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-one is an organophosphate insecticide. It is observed in colorless crystal form and is used as non-systemic insecticide. It is used to control the caterpillars Indarbela quadrinotata on the crops. Indarbela quadrinotata is a bark-eating caterpillar of the family cossidae. This chemical is used in Asian countries like Thailand, Sri Lanka, India, and other.
